Hi Erik, This is definitely strange behavior. I'm concerned that the junction temperature (Tj) is exceeding the upper limit, 85C (see Table 5.3 in the datasheet ). Typically, Tj is higher than the case temperature. Is the customer able to read the internal temperature before/when this happens? Keep in mind that the internal temperature sensor offset can be as much as +/- 20C, so single point calibration should be performed to minimize this offset error. Also, let me point out errata PMM18 , which is affected by temperature. However, it may not be applicable for the customer's application based on the behavior described above.
