I have equipment we designed years ago utilizing the MSP430F4152IPMR. We are testing new code on a platform we developed in 2011. We do not write code, but are involved with testing changes made my the firmware team. We are unable to program the MSP430F4152IPMR with new or original firmware. We are using SPIBI-Wire and have a small interface board to transition from 14 pin programmer to a four pin configuration (SPI, CK, Power, GND). We are using the circuit as described in the TI "MSP430 JTAG / BSL connectors" document figure 7. It is the same board we have been using since 2011 and it has been thoroughly ohmed out. This is the SLOW SPIBI-Wire configuration and has always worked for programming. We cannot go to the fast version (adding a 3.3K resistor)as the R1 and C1 circuit is on the hardware platform (a high volume consumer product) that for cost reasons will not permit such a change. Programming Software and Hardware Equipment: We are using FET-PRO430 Software program by Elprotronic. It should be setup correctly and it is set to SPIBI-Wire We have an MSP-FET430UIF that is talking to the uP but fails at various points during the programming cycle; i.e. Fails during programming or fails during erasing etc... Seems the comms are unreliable. We also just purchased an MSP-FET and it will not even communicate with the target device. We are under the gun here as we have already lost 3 days on this issue and we have deliverables coming up tomorrow. PLEASE HELP! Russ Churchill 602 717-7480 russc@electronicapplications.com
