We use IAR for programing our device, but one of the units does not operate normally. When the unit is connected to the PC and the firmware of the tool is updated by IAR, everything works normally until the unit is disconnected form the PC and connected back then IAR cannot communicate with the tool anymore. The mode led on the tool just blinks and stays lit. We found, that if we then use another program, like Energia or CSS so that the software updates the firmware of the tool and then run IAR again (so that IAR updates the firmware again) the tool works, but again only one time (one programming). We have the latest software and drivers, we also tried this on three different PC's that have never had any mentioned software nor programmer installed, but the problem is still the same. This only happens with one of the MSP-FET tools, the other one is working normally. We would like to know, how we can resolve this issue or possibly send the unit for repairs, but we are located in Slovenia, so we do not know where to turn to for support. Any solutions or help would be greatly appreciated! 2 Uros, If you only use Energia or CCS does the tool remain functional or does it require an update each time you try to debug? Can you provide the versions of the IDEs you are using? Thanks, Chris 1 Chris, The tool requires an update each time we try to debug. We are using IAR ver. 6.30.3, Energia 17 and CCS 6.1.1. We have bought a new unit, which works normally, so i think that the device has to be at fault. But it is strange as it works until it is disconnected and reconnected to the pc. Is there a possibility that we could send it to be repaired? 3 Uros, I would like to get the failing unit. I want to check what is going wrong.
