Forum Post: RE: MSP-Gang not locking JTAG properly on FR6989?

Hi Phil, Thanks for posting - I am looking into this. I can confirm that using MSP430FR5969 and MSP-GANG I did Secure Device and the JTAG was locked from further access. However if I use BSL with the correct BSL password to read back the device, I can see that 0x5555 is only written to JTAG signature 1. I believe this is sufficient for locking the JTAG because I can not longer get into the device with JTAG unless I perform a mass erase via BSL, and I think this is implied but not explicitly stated by the device user's guide, but I will check with the team about this. In addition, I will report to the MSP-GANG designer that 0x5555 is only written to JTAG signature 1 because I believe the recommended method is to write both signatures. I'll get back to you as soon as possible with more information. Regards, Katie
